White-bellied Sunbird

Cinnyris talatala

This common resident in savanna, dry woodland and gardens, with its glossy green head, back and breast, white underparts and a purple breast band, is easy to distinguish from other sunbirds.

We first recorded this species in March 2010 in Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens near Roodepoort, which is a great spot for this and other sunbird species.
