Village or Spotted-backed Weaver

Ploceus cucullatus

These weavers breed in large, noisy, multiple-male colonies. We should know as they are a key feature of our family’s garden in Ocean View, KwaZulu Natal, where they can be heard shouting and fighting for much of the day.
