Anthus lineiventris
As far as pipits go, the striped pipit must be one of the easiest to identify. Its large size, heavily streaked underparts and yellow-edged wing coverts set it apart from the other streak-breasted pipits.
I first recorded this species in June 2011 on Rhinkals Weg in the Seringveld Conservancy. Other good areas for this species include Ezemvelo Nature Reserve (along the rocky slopes near the Wilge River), Walter Sisulu (above the waterfall) and Kololo Game Reserve (near the carports).
