Crithagra gularis
This relatively large, grey canary with its buff or creamy supercilium and plain breast, spends its time in woodland, thickets and dense scrub.
We first recorded this species in April 2010 on our first visit to Moreletta Kloof Nature Reserve near Pretoria. A good spot to find this species is Roodeplaat Dam Nature Reserve, which lies 22km north east of Pretoria and the Seringveld Conservancy (specifically Rinkhals Street).
