Certhilauda chuana (endemic)
This endemic species spends its time in semi-arid thornveld and dry acacia savanna.
My best sighting of this slender lark, with its long, buff-white supercilium, occurred in December 2012 with David Letsoalo at the Mamabola grasslands in Magoeboskloof.
I had seen it on a previous occasion (in April 2011) but only for a very short moment and without getting any decent photographs. This time we got fantastic sightings of a pair of larks, which sat and called from a variety of different perches in their hot, barren territory.
