Pygmy Falcon

Polihierax semitorquatus

This small, shrike-like falcon must be one of the cutest faclons in the world!

One of our best sightings of this species took place in July 2012, while we were staying at Zebra River Lodge in southern Namibia.

A great South African spot to see and photograph this locally common resident is the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in the Northern Cape.
