Hirundo dimidiata
This petite, blue-and-white swallow can be distinguished from other swallows by its lack of breast band and uniform white underparts. In the north of of its range it spends its time in broad-leaved and Brachystegia woodland, while in southern South Africa it prefers valley lowland fynbos, bushveld, and farmland.
I first recorded this species in July 2011 near Ezemvelo Nature Reserve, near Bronkhorstspruit.
