Olive Sunbird

Cyanomitra olivacea

This relatively dull, olive sunbird is a regular resident of coastal, riverine and montane forests. Both males and females in the lowland populations, such as those found on the KwaZulu Natal coastline, have bright, yellow pectoral tufts.

We first recorded this species in January 2010 on the south coast of KwaZulu Natal.
