Hunter’s Cisticola

Cisticola hunteri

This dull brown cisticola, with a slightly contrasting chestnut-brown crown and dark lores, is endemic to East Africa, and can be easily identified by its very distinctive musical duet.

We first saw this dueting species in September 2011 while staying at “The Ark” in the Aberdares National Park, Kenya. They were cheerfully hopping around the rocks just outside the hotel, calling excitedly from the top of rocks as they went.
