Coracina caesia
This attractive, blue-grey cuckooshrike is generally uncommon. It is best found in the upper canopy of evergreen and coastal forests.
We first set eyes on this bird with David Letsoalo in April 2011. We were staying at Kurisa Moya’s beautiful bird song cabin and had organised an early morning bird walk with David. The walk was awesome and we found this species as well as scaly-throated honeyguide, lemon dove, yellowthroated woodland warbler and yellow-streaked greenbul.
