Greater Honeyguide

This grey-brown honeyguide is distinguished from other honeyguides by its pale-edged wing coverts. Our first African sighting of this iconic bird took place in September 2011 while exploring El Kerama Eco Lodge in Nanyuki, Kenya.

A great spot to see this species in southern Africa is the northern section of Mkhombo Dam Nature Reserve in Mpumulanga.
