Flappet Lark

Mirafra rufocinnamomea

This particular lark species favours broadleafed woodland and is as its name suggests makes lots of “flapping noises” as part of its display flight in breeding season.

I first recorded this species with Skye Hartog in August 2014 at Mabusa National Park.
