Dark Chanting Goshawk

Melierax metabates

This scarce to locally common resident of well-wooded savanna can be distinguished from pale chanting goshawk by its smaller size and grey (not white) rump.

I first recorded this special goshawk with Skye Hartog in March 2012 while on a whirlwind tour of southern Kruger.
