Chestnut-backed Sparrow-lark

Eremopterix leucotis

This beautiful sparrow-lark is a common resident and nomad in sparsely grassed savanna, road verges and cultivated lands.

I first saw this species in February 2011 near the Kgomo Kgomo floodplain. My best sighting, however, was with Skye Hartog in March 2012 while exploring southern Kruger National Park.
