Carp’s Tit

Parus carpi

This near-endemic (to Namibia) canĀ  be distinguished from southern black tit by its black vent and whiter primaries.

We first encountered it with Pete Morgan in July 2012 while looking for cinderella waxbill near to Kunene River Lodge in northern Namibia. Our best encounters, however, took place at Erongo Wilderness Lodge in central Namibia.
