Anthoscopus minutus (near-endemic)
This incredibly cute, yellow bellied species usually occurs in small groups in fynbos, semi desert, karoo scrub and arid savanna.
I first recorded this near-endemic in November 2010 at the West Coast National Park in the Western Cape. A good spot to find this bird near Gauteng is the MPC Dam on the “Zaagkuildrift to Kgomo Kgomo” birding route.
