I really think they should consider changing the name of this cuckoo to common and the common cuckoo’s name to scarce.
We have seen this species on many occasions, starting in March 2010 at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens, but we have not yet had a confirmed sighting of its far more elusive cousin, the so called “common” cuckoo. Oh well, hopefully we will locate a african looking cuckoo with a far less orange bill in the very near future.
